Who We Are

Make a Donation

The Carpenter’s Shop (TCS), founded in 1981, is a non-profit organisation based in Cape Town. With over three decades of experience in developing people’s skills, TCS now offers its clients access to a variety of free ablution facilities and life skills training to help them become financially stable and to be reintegrated into the mainstream.

In order to ensure that the work of the organisation keeps up with sector trends and the ever-changing needs of its clients, TCS is a founding member of the Street People’s Forum (SPF) – the advocacy and lobbying arm of organisations working in the sector. This forum serves as a platform to liaise with other relevant bodies and the Government around policy and legislation to facilitate systematic change.

Our Purpose

The Carpenter’s Shop endeavours to provide rehabilitation services, training and accommodation to people in disadvantaged situations with a view to reinstate them into the mainstream.
